i want 2 put in new hard drive 80gig but it doesnt get pick up by my pc.is it posible 2 take out the inside of a 40gig and put in 80gig.help wud b apreciatd *

no. theres a bios chip on hdd's that designate things like read and write paramiters. and the disks inside are not interchangeable. *

if its an older hp model it will have hardware in it that detects other hp hardware, if its not the same spec that hp sell then the pc wont recognise it. your only option is to buy from hp in that case. *
