It would be reasonably close, but GTS250 would always be a bit faster. You would have to considerably exceed a 9800GT's clocks to get it very close to a 250 which isnt really possible on air on samples i have seen, but you can certainly close up the gap if you only have stock clocks on a 9800 GT. Think they are 600/1500/900. Most will go 700/1700/1000 but i wouldnt expect much more * +

Definitely not. Post asked for performance comparison, not what nvidia's business model is or about their tendancy to rename old cards *
