Hi i got a problem with a pc when i start it it mostly don't want to detect the monitor but when it does the computer starts up fine log in fine sometimes then it just make a click sound then the screen goes dead and the fan goes dead not making any sound but the pc still shows a green light thats its switch on but there dont seem to be any other powes for the cpu fan etc... any help * +

sounds like a power surge and trip. likley cause is a rail on the psu is failing or has failed (if its modular) its a definate click like a switch tripping, and not a static arc crack? like you hear from a lighter. either way if you dont have a spare psu to test your system with then you best take it to a shop. * +

smell the back of the psu at the vent, it may give you a hint. burnt rubber/ ozone/ components? * +

yes its a tripping sound i also think it might be the psu because sometimes its seems like theres no power for the screen but still the green light shows that pc and nope sorry got no extra psu atm but il let it get check at a pc shop thanks jay.mack * +

your caps is leaking like fk in that psu and don't even start Spartan lol *
