Recently updated the laptop to windows 7. It runs a lot faster but I seem to be getting a slight crackling on the audio just as windows goes into the desktop. I sometimes get it when iam streaming you tube videos online although its intermittant, doesnt happen every time. But I Never experiance this problem when playing a dvd so does that mean its a software or driver incompatibility issue? * +

I have noticed that the sound section of empowering technology isnt compatable and if I Open it I Get warned that the windows platform isnt supported, but despite that it still lets me switch between different sound modes such as ambiance or whatever etc. Could this be the problem? * +

That is caused by cpu throttling. normally by a application loaded at start up. I know easy tune causes that problem on windows 7 but that's for gigabyte boards. So start disabling your start up entries till it goes away * +

I used the 32 bit upgrade disc to upgrade from vista 2 windows 7. * +

http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/ go here download the latest drivers. Go into device manager roll back roll back till you can't roll back no more then uninstall. install the other new ones then set your speaker config to full range. See if that works * +

To be honest I Have disabled most start up programs via misconfig but maybe there is one remaining causing that issue. Its a core2duo cpu are you able to define cpu throttling? * +

do the startup items check aswell. Only have your antivirus and 3rd party firewall in the startup untick all the others. Then see. If still the same do driver thing. But I'm certain that's caused by cpu throttling * +
