my ups has automatic voltage regulator, problem is the ups stays in buck mode all the time. Switching every so often to normal mode then back to buck mode. Anyone got any ideas what's causing it? Worried it will have a negative effect on battery life. The ups seems to work fine otherwise * +

it protects against over and under voltage as well as power loss you know. check the voltage at the socket * +

We have them in the work office and allow a controlled shutdown if main power was to fail/how they work to do it im clueless * +

you seem to be using an unclean powerline you could try routing the power via a dedicated power regulator/ stablilizer then to the ups since it has wider voltage tolerance * +
