I have a library that offers free wifi (b/g) over the road from my house(about 200 meters) i have a usb wifi billion 3012g that only just gets the signal what is the best and cheapest way to improve the signal if i buy a router will it increase the range? i have no other internet connection at home to plug a routes into and am not sure how they work or what my best option is!any advice is much appreciated thanks in advance! * +

wouldn't of thought it would make any differance, as its them who are transmiting the signal as to how strong it is, but i could be wrong * +

there are divices that can amplify a weak wifi signal. think they are called extenders. designed for use in large houses where not all parts are covered by the main access point router. not sure on price or setup but maybe worth some research :) * +

you need some 1mm card, some tin foil and a little patence. you make a parabolicwith the card line it with the tin foil, place the wirless antena inside the parabolic like you see on a satalite dish, this will increase the focus of the antenna, works bes on routers with areals. http://alturl.com/fhqks * +

A wireless repeater will amplify your signal. You get ones and regenerate your signal instead of amplifying. * +
