Frnds my laptop is currently running xp sp2 professional nw i wnt 2 instal xp sp3 prof bt i dnt wnt 2 loose my datas,sngs nd videos stored in da D,E,F,G drives f da earlier version pls tel me da method 2 instal.1st Do i hve 2 format da C drive b4 instalation r nt?pls help me dis da 1st tym m installing da OS.TNX. * +

You don't need to format all the drives... So you'll not loose your data in D,E,F,G.... Insert the XP installation(bootable) CD and run it... It will ask you to choose where to install the OS.... Select C drive and follow step by step to format the C drive... Thats it... Other drives will remain untouched.... * +

Yeah do an upgrade. Not new install. Even if you have a SP3 slipstreamed copy, try an upgrade with it. I haven't tried that though. It should work. * +
