i took ny boss laptop home install some software for him, but when i connect to internet it says sending data to external server, and then the firewall blocks the connection. i tolt him that this version is a cracket one and he should buy the original one. he has xp extreme edition. now is my point that the windows version itself is a virus right or am i wrong? just asked to be sure. *

No not the Windows version itself. Its a normal XP copy with certain files that have malware code embedded in them. Use COMODO firewall and see what file(s) exactly is connecting to the web and than use an updated version of Avira AV and scan the drive. It should detect malware click remove. By doing this you might damage the Windows but its the risk you must take. It might clean it out. *

and if it does remove them successfully, restart and see if anything tries to connect with Comodo again. It shouldn't. This also might trigger the Windows WPA so you might have activate the windows afterward. *
