protection high. act as server/accept incoming only to programs that REALLY use such features. keep the ports closed/hidden when they are not actually used. to be exact only certain programs require accepting incoming connections (usually p2p related), many do not. Windows updates etc. do not. many common protocols do not. * +

you can also firewall block or nullroute programs that you can't delete for whatever reasons (like ie on systems older than 7 etc.) * +
