everytime i shut win7 down it tries to install an update for a piece of hardware that is no longer in the machine, any way to stop this update? * +

try setting the updater to manual, then search for updates yourself, if the unwanted update is in the list of avalable updates, right click on it then select, hide this update and click ok, then do a search again and it should be gone * +

, my question z as same as related to updates issue , hey i installed 2.17GB of windows 7 from torrentz.com , is updates will reveal my not legal OS , but i hav genuine label at mycomputer properties.. * +

@sisfreak tell your sister to reinstall windows 7 but this time she should install zonealarm or comodo firewall...and set restriction to high and block all connection to microsoft... Enjoy * +
