I have got a 20gig harddisk from my friend. He had a old p4(pinned) system with 1gig ddr1 and also those old stuffs. That hard disk had 2 partition. 16 gb nd 3gb Did the backup of that harddisk from d drive but c drive i.e 16gig cant be accessed. I tried a couple of linux live cds. * +

He now told me to do full format it and reinstall xp. So deleted all partition and created 15gig and remaining to d drive and when Press enter to install xp in c drive the 15gig get divided in 9 and 8 gig thus creating three partition. Strange never saw thing like that * +

maybe a jumper config on the underside of the drive or on the back. some old hdds were configured this way when 8 gig was the max accessable by the system, thus the drive would auto configure 2 partitions to enable the drive to work. possable solution find the drives pdf. * +
