i always make a locked archive to safe my installer files. dont want any file virus messing them. on the otherhand do it with 7 zip and watch a file virus mess up your archive * +

I recommend u al 'POWER ISO'. It just save ur time n space in ur HDD beside compressing i'e u wont hav 2extract it as in win-rar n win-zip. It makes u .daa file as an image, u can use it simply my mounting it as iso/nrg etc. * +

http://kgbarchiver.net/ probably the most intence compression routines, can be lossy tough so check your data after you use it to make sure it decompresses to the same hash table numbers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KGB_Archiver you will see here it is even more effective than huffman coding which in its day p*ssed all over zip,rar and virtualy every other form of compression. * +

yeah i hope they got either a good cpu or time because it can take a long time to compress *
