If its keep up with errors you can use a app called dail-a-fix and repair the bits service. Check the bits service is on auto aswell because its the main one for updates * +

I had the same failure sometime back but it only affected updates for Windows defender. I dealt with it by downloading the update files from Microsoft's site and then installed the updates manually. I think it is some kind of a bug in the OS. Maybe you could try downloading the updates manually and install them then see what happens. * +
