Got a DELL branded CPU with XP and a 17 LG LCD monitor.... Now when I switch it on, it sometimes starts with no problems... But most of the time it boots and just after the windows animation, the monitor goes black and small message shows OUT OF RANGE.... * +

My monitor resolution is 1440x900 with max frequency of 75Hz... So I tried to adjust the settings in control panel according to that but no avail... But when if I start up in VGA MODE, its starts fine.... So what could be the problem?... Please suggest me guys.... * +

What suprises me most is, if there are some problems in the hardware of software then why it starts up sometimes?.... Coz after 5-8 tries of switching on-off, suddenly it starts up with no problems and it stays stable until I restart it.... * +

Have you installed intel graphics accelerator which came with motherboard ? If not try it. But before doing that boot in safe mode and reset the graphics settings. * +

put the monitor resolution to 1024x768 then update drivers for monitor/graphics card (if you have one) once you have the latest drivers you can slowly increase resolution if it goes black and says out of range it means that resoultion is not supported with that monitor * +

firstly unplug your lcd and plug in again making sure you properly insert it. sound like a loose conection to me * +

all rwasons for the above are valid, check connections, check the drivers. booy into safemode if you have to and reset the monitor to default, this should sync the system. * +
