the computer shop by me wants to sell me one for 550 south african rands. I'm stuck with putting in a agp card, i dont want to upgrade my whole computer just yet. Is this card semi decent? * +

also is the price ok? I'm using onboard graphics at the moment, only 64mb memory, i play the odd game here and there, but i'm not a hardc*re gamer. Use my computer for lots of other things * +

its a terrible card. useless for games and you are being ripped off. AGP is very dated but there are decent cards out there to meet most games minimum requirements, which will probably be limited by your CPU performance. A lot of the time its not a great path spending money on an old machine * +

yes, i get what your saying spartan. Could you suggest what would be the best agp card to go for? I'm stuck with my machine for the next year as i'm going to be off work for a year, so money is gonna be scarce for that time. I just cant stand the onboard graphics anymore, so whatever card i put in now i'm stuck with. I'm running p4 3gig, and 2 gigs of ram at the moment * +

p4 3.0ghz.. a nvidia card. like the 6800 or 7600 you should be able to pick 1 of them up for 300-400 rand its a pitty that in s.a the second hand market charges nearly new prices. if you can look on ebay or gumtree they tend to have cheap second hand gear that will out perform and beat on price your current offer. * +
