Did you use add/remove programs ? If so then you will have to delete the program manually while in safe mode . That will mess you up your registry , but thats a whole different subject . * +

Oh . Sorry , I missread that . That sounds like your best bet . But do get that rootkit removal app . Better safe than sorry . Rootkits can hide in the boot sector , which can survive a format . * +

to make sure you cleam format delete the primary partition and recreate it, this way a new boot block is written also. do this from a cold boot (turn the pc off for 30 seconds or more) and boot straight off the cd drive. *
