hello guys what AV do you recommend to use with Win 7 64bit? i use kaspersky right now. when i bought it i had to download the 64 bit file because in was only the other version on cd. anyway i dont know if that tells you something but on the taskmanager the AV says also 32. and i see this 32 on the taskmanager only on some apps that i installed and i think that they dont have a 64 bit version. * +

is that right?? im asking all that just because im courious has nothing to do why i want new AV lol. i used to use kaspersky on my other pc with vista and i never had any problems but just now i got a scareware on my pc somehow and kaspersky didnt blocked a s**t. :( now im scanning my pc and it deleted 2 trojan files from the temp folder but it should not let the s**t install on the first place.. * +

Kaspersky works fine on 64 bit. It wont catch every virus out there though, no AV will. You have to be careful and not rely on software. * +

Best AV is the user. * +

I like Norton. Microsoft security essential is pretty good and free. But, really nothing beats being careful. * +

witch get a better av. notron has a poor catch rate compared to most av's and ms essentials is very very poor. just for argument sake get avira and run it 1s, then malware bytes and run that 1s, i guarentee if your perminantly connected to the net and download more than a gig a day you will find 30+infections. * +

the 32 bit engine in kaspersky is for backwards compatability to 32bit programs. its ment to be there. * +
