its recomended that you use a specific writer for each type of disk. reading and writing to different formats other than the designed 1 can shorten the lazers life, so cdrw for cd, dvdrw for dvd and bdrw for bluray, its all to do with the frequencey you adk the lazer to read and write with. * +
