hi guys! i've got a... WEIRD question, not to say more :D what's better - 3 GB DDR2 RAM running on 667 MHz, or 2 GB DDR2 RAM running on 800 MHz? :D * +

no ist not the ddr2 800 his faster and dual channel. the 667 is also dual channel 1 that may revert to single channel when the extra ram is inserted. * +

not all motherboaeds support dual channel 1s you add a third or forth stick. so 2 gigs of ddr2 800 will give more performance. * +

@Jay You're very right. With memory it's not just about density but width as well. Thats why it is important to have similar modules of the same speed and density from the same manufacture on all banks. One different module may turn dual channel off. * +

well, yes, two of the modules are identical (they are the ones with 800 MHz), so i'll put them in single-colored slots, but the third one is from other manufacturer, and 667 MHz. so, should i put the third to work, or throw it out? :D * +

throw it out unless you want all the ram to run at 667 single channel. it realy will be a performance hit. * +
