hi there.. i just need to know if it is any good sogtware which can format a partition on start up... before windows gets started i mean... will do a clean install need to prepare the partition before install... all ideas are welcomed! :) * +

yeah was thinkin about that too.. you think that is more safe with the os disc?? do you know if that asks to put a letter as drive too?? anyway thanks.. will test that.. * +

hiren's boot cd... theres ranish partition manager... also.... depend from what brand hard drive you got... let's say you got wd disk... then there is wd diagnostic tool with which you can also write zeros to disk.. which would be approx same as format... in fact even better... then there is Kill.Disk.... great tool.. yet it needs a whole lots of time to finish job.... * +

then there is ZNCD... simple tool made to erase disk of any brand... works through DOS... and the list goes on....
