Depends what you are comparing. raw speed the F3s are faster. end of. When you start comparing complex things such as multi threaded read and random access times or pcmark benches etc then its all over the shop. sustained read and write is what most people go by though and the F3 is faster there * +

thw WD's are better on threaded random read and Pc mark, the F3 seems better on HDtune and sequential read by a mile etc * +

If you dont keep your drives nice and orderly, leave space on them and looked after then the WD is the one you want most likely, but if you keep everything defragged regularly and contiguous the F3's sequential read and write is absolutely unassailable 
me personally i keep everything nice and tidy so when the F3 lines it all up and reads it off it totally kicks ass * +

i keep everything nice and tidy . lol i defrag every time i shut off the computer . both drive are great . i just prefer the western digital bran . only got the sammy as it was cheap . works well in my media centre *
