Just thinking to upgrade my pc s moniter ,this is only hardware i never upgraded from last 4 years its 17 crt ,can you guys suggest me with some good omniters ,dont want the huge big screens just want to be simple but good . * +

i'm also just about to upgrade monitor. Lcd definately seems the way to go. I'm gonna go for 22inch * +

depends on yer gfx, if you only have 512mb or less then 22'' and under @1600/900 @max rez for gaming... if you have a 848mb-1gig 22''-26'' 1920/1080-1920/1200 for gaming for. if you only have a video card 9600gt or under then you can fo for a bigger size but you wont get good gaming performance as the ram on the cards wont be fast enough to keep up. * +

thatsjust a genral rule its not a written in stone fact some smaller cards with more faster gddr5 ram can cope with 19-22 inch 1600/900-1920/1080 without a huge performance drop in games but your never gonna see over 30 fps on them cards anyway. so you may keep the performance you had already but because it was never stunning anyway it may not be worth the extra cash for the bigger monitor. * +

price? you can get cheap 19'' lg's for less than 100 pounds but you realy do get what you pay for. a lot of reports of under power fails (the powerbrick is cr*p quality so fails within a few months) and back light fails (same reason), paying an extra 50 pounds will often sort the reliability problems. (but not allways) * +

samsung do some nice monitors at the 180-250 pound 22''-24'' range with lots of connectivity as do lg and atm i would recommend either as i have 1 from each manufacturer. the lg was a pleasant suprise in its picture quality, nice bright whites and deep blacks... which is what you want. * +

look out for monitors with LED backlight as they wont use so much power and create less heat and should last longer * +
