Windows XP is good for older good computers . Windows 7 is good for modern top of the line computers . * +

xp is more comprehending old style system with extensive help and checked up features while 7 has better graphics (better designed with more features to improve visual looks) but also is experimental and offers some features that are not well tested.also some programs that worked on xp will not work on 7 complaining about missing libraries.it seams few dlls are stripped off in ever new version * +

*every new version. hopefully these will be fixed in a service pack but i really doubt.xp is more stabile than 7 as much as you all disagree on that,i ve tested it i know,i say 7 is still experimental with unpredictable and obscure problems occuring when u least expect it in places u least expect it to occur.if you are into programming, tweaking, optimizing and extensively personalizing your system, * +

go to xp and if u do surface jobs sort to say like watching movies, listening mp3s,streaming from the net, visiting youtube.. and not really caring about getting to know your pc better and learning scripting programming decompiling or hacking applications and personalizing tham, you can as well keep the 7.also google about the features each version (basic,starter,professional..) has to offer/disable. * +
