Hi everyone I am watching a movie on one of my HDD and then suddenly it starts to freeze the movie and after a few seconds I hear my HDD starting up like as if it when to sleep is there anyway to change the problem that I have like to see if the HDD shuts down after some time * +

Sometimes it even happens when I go to the HDD it take a few seconds and then I here it starting up and then I can access it any help please it is irritating * +

what operating system? it sounds like you have your Power Options are set to turn off the hard disks after so many minutes. * +

Okay I found the settings in control Panel power setting and went to change advanced setting and under harddrive I changed it from 20 min to never could it damage my harddrives if I set it to never? * +

its not suppose to go to sleep because watching a movie the hdd is not at idle. Check your connections to your hdd especialy the power cable. Check if its propably inserted and its tightly secure. Then go to cmd type chkdsk /f enter yes then reboot. * +

you can go into system and under hdd's you will find a setting to never turn off the device to save power. * +
