These programs would find it very difficult to work on ur precious netbook(or will end up crashing it). Finally most netbooks don't have Rom drives i.e DVD-rom/rw drives. I could only have a netbook which i will be using once in a blue moon. * +

If u're looking for some cute and small, u could buy a 12 inch acer timeline having 8 hrs battery life and a superb configuration(cost 800 or less) or H.P DV4 Which is also small,cute and has impressive specs. Be patient, gather more money to buy a proper laptop which u'll enjoy for a very long time. * +

I understand that @Ji_dl. but my criteria is PORTABILITY! n the major programs i'd be using are MS OFFICE and iTunes. dese i'll be using extensively. and why i prefer netbook over a NOTEbook is bcoz they r small, light and easy to carry around!!! * +

Oh and btw,,, i need this netbook to last for 3 years :D i'll then upgrade to a proper laptop.. but for nw, i'd only prefer a netbook. * +
