I found a folder in the hard drive (D:) with the pc name on it. Inside it there are 2 folders both named Backup Set with their own dates on them inside the one is .zip files, named Backup Files 1 upto Backup Files 84, each weighing 200mb. The other Backup Set folder has only 2 .zip backup files. Where does this come from? It sizes up to 14gb.. Can i delete it? *

You may not delete them as they contain the whole system back up files from the manufacture including device drivers. If you're sure you won't need them like most people don't, you can delete them. *

i see... when would i need these backup files? i'd think that if a system crashes then the whole hard drive would be formatted, so what purpose would backups serve on the same drive? sorry, im a bit of a noob. *

Usually those files are saved on a seperate partition. But if that's not the case with you, you can move them onto a seperate drive or partition apart from your C: drive. *
