Subject: Hard drive wont show

I'm using an msi motherboard. The os is windows 7 . The thing is if it were a usb poweroutput how come another complete replica of the hard drive works with the computer no problems. Its a western digital hard drive so i will try get the drivers. Cos the hard drive shows when i go to computer management and go to storage devices. But it says i should format it or update driver. The formattin i did, fail. So i'll try the drivers *
