Hey there guys i need your help. I have a 1.5tb portable hard drive that refuses to show on my new pc when i plug it in? I thought the hard drive was broken but its not, cos when i connect it as a normal hard drive it will show. I also thought it was the usb port on the hard drive but it connects fine to other computers. I also thought it was the computers usb but its not cos my friend has the exact same hard drive and it shows when he plugs it into my new pc. I tried formatting incase of a viru * +

Go on device manager and update your drivers, have you got auto update turned off? * +

what motherboard are you using and what o.s. the most common problem with usb hdd is conflict with older usb devices, another problem is usb power output. * +

I'm using an msi motherboard. The os is windows 7 . The thing is if it were a usb poweroutput how come another complete replica of the hard drive works with the computer no problems. Its a western digital hard drive so i will try get the drivers. Cos the hard drive shows when i go to computer management and go to storage devices. But it says i should format it or update driver. The formattin i did, fail. So i'll try the drivers * +
