Hi, I have a general question regarding Ups systems. I read it is lead based batteries. Aparently if it runs completely dry, it might not charge back again. Secondly I was wondering if it would be possible to disable the beeps on my ups? My family is going crazy when the power trips at home. I don't have serial port on my pc so the ups cant communicate + shut down my pc. I was quite impressed when * +

my aunt said the power was down for 1 hour, and when I got home my bot was stil running, so that means the ups must have kept my pc going for 60 minutes. I only connected the tower to my ups, screen gets power from wall. If I want to connect the ups to my pc I will need to spend half what I paid for my ups, on a usb to serial converter cable. What do you guys think should be done in this situation * +

thank you sis.. the lady at the store told me that I should never let it run dry.. hehe, she must be a nab. But anyway, its good to know my ups wont die on me incase I am not around to turn it off. * +

u got an hour out of a ups? it cant be a demanding pc then. mine would last about 6 minutes on a 1000w * +

the cpu load was 5-10 since my internet connection was severed. My bot wouldn't have been able to access it's server. So my pc was basically just idling on low current or something. I am running an Amd 3000 athlone 2gig ram 500gig hard disk gigabyte nforce 4 sock 939 micro atx motherboard. My psu is 350 watt I think. I was also amased that it lived for so long :D * +
