Anyone know how to get my dvd drive to record discs?It reads all dvds and cds,burnt or originals but wont burn them.Tried regedit and going on properties and looking on the record tab but not getting anywhere.f2 button and changing the boot arangements dont work either.blumin stuck,any ideas will be apreciated. Probably have to go pc repair shop in the morning.Just got a new drive so its not that. * +

try uninstalling the driver for the dvd drive and restart ur pc will reconise it and reinstall it might do the trick for ya * +

Laptops a Rock Xtreme CTX Pro with vista installed. It recognises it as a cd dvd ram but not a rom for some strange reason. Had no recovery partition so made my own, everything else works fine, just wont burn discs. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and managed to sort it? Mite be a conection to the drive or something so thinking of going pc shop and getting it checked out? * +

Do you have nero software installed on your laptop? If yes then check the control panel then NERO BURNING RIGHTS. Have a look on there maybe you disabled the burning rights.

It says cd dvd rw on my computer but in device manager it says dvd rom. nero burning rights are turned on. Cheers for trying! * +
