Why are you jaffeling so much stuff about disk formats without asking the guy what type of drive he has? At the end the drive determines what disks you can use. * +

Dvd+R is same as dvd-r can be used to record films and watch them in commercial players. But Dvd+R may only be recorded in a Dvd+R recorder. Same with dvd-r. So look up difference in dvd recorders not blood disk formats. * +

Oh last thing. That disk you used its not a CD-R80 by any chance? Its made by tdk and the recorder needs to be calibrated on reading and recording speeds to read and write. They are rare expensive but great to counter piracy. *
