I want to run a new copy of windows on a laptop I jaut got of a work m8 but it has no disk could I use another disk and use the windows key on the sticker under the laptop cheers * +

yes ya can as long as its the right xp 4 the key ie. is the key for xp home the use xp home disk simple as * +

yes as the key is genuine but ive found you will need the original type of diske ie, xp without service pack, or with service pack1,2 or 3, ive found a key for xp with service pack 2, wont work on xp disk with service pack 3 etc, also will need the os type ie, xp home or xp professional etc * +

best way to make sure is install from running from windows ie log on run disk whilst windows is running it will ask for key before rebooting, if it rejects key, then you know its wrong disk, if it acepts it, turn off laptop and boot from disk to do a clean instalation * +
