My windows 7 crashed due to corrupt drivers. I couldn't reinstall windows without formatting the drive but I have important stuff on it. So I put in another samsung 500 sata hdd and installed windows on it but now its booting from the corrupt windows. I changed the primary and slave in bios but it still not working * +

open window at command prompt and enter 'bcdedit' command.....it shows the boot manager entries...if newly installed windows 7 is not listed then just enter 'bcdboot' command......thats it * +

or dissconnect the corrupted drive. and run the win7 cd repair option. it should then make the new hdd a bootable primary. 1s dom make it the primary hdd in bios and reconnect the old hdd, it should then boot. * +

bcdedit will work as long as the primary boot info is there, so yeah try that first. but i had a similar problem and used my solution to fix it. if you can you can tell bios that the old drive is none bootable. * +
