Guys please help. My cd/dvd rom wont read CDs, It only reads DVD's. I dont knw why? Pls help. * +

Thanks carta i did visit the link but my situatinn is different. My rom is recognised and working, its just that it wont read cd's anymore.. It only reads dvd's but not cd's... Thanks anyway.. * +

I did.. Still nt reading cds. But how come dvds can be read with no problem.. * +

Deleting the filters will only give the problem of the installation of the specific software. Check the type of disk you are using and check the supported mediums on the front cover of your rom/writer * +

Check the autoplay options on the control panel, maybee set all those to default settings with the button at the bottom. It did read cd's before, didn't it? * +

Or check that its drivers are up to date on the device manager. * +
