I have downloaded the latest HP driver for my printer from their official website, twice. Everything installs fine, the hp software and the driver. The problem is, my printer is still not working. Im running windows 7. The print still has the troubleshoot icon as it did before the installation. * +

i think that windows is trying to install the device with its own drivers but the driver that it comes with is not complete, so it installers scanner functionality but the actual printer cant communicate with the pc. Is there some way for me to DELETE or PREVENT windows half- ed driver or any other way to use the HP Driver package? * +

in the device manage, the printer shows under BOTH compatible printers and other devices! * +

try right clicking them under device manager and uninstall, then scan for new hardware, not used 7 enough to know if that will help though sorry * +

try upgrading the driver from the device manager and point the source to the drivers you installed * +

it a hp psc 1410. I tried eric but the problem is, the driver is an exe. It unpacks tho, in the temp folder, and installs from there. The drivers for 7 arent in the drivers folder though. * +
