Hi guys, i have my friends laptop n i'm trying to reinstall xp on the machine since his dads m8 put vista on it n its only 512mb of ddr1 lol. Its a Packard Bell EasyNote R1400, in the bios it states the beet from cd/dvd is disabled, n ive been tryin for 30mins now to enable it but no luck, anyone klnow how 2 enable.. Its a really old bios * +

I'm gonna update the bios, see if that helps, its just so fkin slow with 512mb n running vista ultimate 64bit.. I'd love 2 know who done it, wat a d*ck * +

wouldn't update coz its an xp laptop, n the bios for xp, well i'm lost, it wont even boot from a usb stick i just get an error, also cant boot from usb cd drive * +

Its not the best idea to update the BIOS from windows anyway. Obviously you need to boot from disk/USB to flash from DOS. Are you sure you have tried everything you can think of in the BIOS settings to get it to boot from disk? * +

Yup n there is not alot 2 choose from.. I'm gonna see if i can erase the HDD n try boot from usb, but it might now be safe, might not work n then it will have no operating system * +
