stairsteps? dont you mean pixels and jaggies (the contrast between light and dark pixels) FSAA reduces this by incrimentaly reducing the intensity of the pixels towards the edge of a screen object giving the illusion of smooth edges.. as spartan said. most new mid range and hi will actualy antiatlas in some for free of charge to the gpu's overall performance... or atleast thats the idea. * +

on low-mid low they dont have the newest revisions of hardware and are often underpowerd but sold as gaming cards to the unwary. my preferred metheod is to reduce the overall image quality and up the fsaa. as it gives better detail in the distance on fps games. *
