this 1 is amed at the buisness market. servers and the likes. intel seem to want to change tact for the x58 and setting the clarkdale up for the high end enthusiasts. * +

its the extreme edition. who bought the i7 975? exactly. now wait and see if intel announce a bunch of six cores @ say 2.8ghz and they cost half as much. i7 970 is 3.2 and should cost maybe 600. much more realistic for consumer use, not that anyone needs six cores right now for most tasks * +

i guess they didnt sell enough of the exreme i7's to warrent a competative price on there x6 core i7. not only that amd have nothing that comes close. * +

the most i would go for a cpu is 300 notes . not a penny more , if they can get it down to that price im happy * +

well who knows. maybe they will have a six core in a year running the same sort of speeds as the 920/930 for 300 notes. thats wouldnt be a bad upgrade without changing platform * +

well they arent gonna sell many low end six cores right now i suspect so they may as well just keep the prices artificially inflated, they arent conducting a charity here after all. * +
