An Intel Core2 Duo 2.66GHz with an Idle temperature of 31*C before Overclocking. When Overclocked to 3.00GHz the Idle temp goes up to 34*C and when loaded(playing full screen games : NFS Undercover etc) the temp goes high to a Max of 46*C. Is this processor safe when operating at this temp on a daily basis as the user is always on games? * +

Thanks Spartan. It's such a relief. I didn't wanna send this machine away and have it brought back after two weeks. I had to put a better cooler to have the lowest temp possible as this person doesn't wanna spend more money on processor. So does that mean higher clock speed isn't really a problem but higher temp? * +

no it doesnt because the intel duo you have hasnt got enough C++ which could really damage the RAM, you buy gt5700 tbh because that way it would keep the gpu at good speed. * +

@Venom Why do you disagree? Will you please give me an explanation, I need it. * +

46 degrees under full load is chilly. 65 is pushing it. not even close * +

I don't understand how could the RAM get damaged here simply cause the processor is running faster. Do you mean I should push the RAM clock higher as well? * +
