AMD has officially launched 890GX chipset, which brings native support to SATA-600 ports (six) and to the upcoming Phenom II X6 processor (codename Thuban). 890GX chipset works together with the new SB850 south bridge chip, features a DirectX 10.1 (Radeon HD 4290) graphics engine, a PCI Express 2.0 x16 lane that can be split-up into two x8 lanes if necessary and SidePort feature, * +

hich is an optional memory chip soldered on the motherboard in order to increase performance. Several manufacturers have already launched models based on this newest AMD chipset * +

i dont think they have much of an answer. P55 still has a major feature set and i5 750 is as fast as the 965 BE even though it runs 700mhz slower lol * +

intel has nothin to offer for budget users, this is a good board for htpc etc * +

well looking at latest prices and then looking at performance per price AMD's budget user theory is starting to sink . Intel not only killed them with performance theyre doing it with the price aswell. AMD spent 2 much time keeping a eye on NVIDIA and forgot about Intel. Thats what you get if you go cry at the European union claiming unfair competition. it comes back to bite you * +

rohan01 6.03.10 - 06:56pm
not in my country * +

depeds on the region yeah. AMD offer better budget parts at their stock speeds, that is, if you arent going to overclock. intel come back into it though if you are gonna overclock. *
