ps3 can connect without a lappy to net. go to game forum they will help you there they know about the consoles there more than you would find in here *

I think only some of the very first PS3's didn't have built in wireless. Just go to settings a look for the option to connect to the net. *

Your connection will most likely be really cr*p using a dongle and probably not suitable for online gaming. Be careful about how much bandwidth you use. *
