But when i put in a dvd and play it in media player i hear the sound but the video shows green and its blocked out. When i play it in the k lite player some movies play but the same vie problem occurs to other formats. I installed real player and its the same problem. So pls help me, why won't my videos render? my winamp playes alomost everything in win7. the inbuilt player however is another strange thing altogether (like a woman)... and media centre is tied to it. double disaster. i suggest u try winamp and vlc. if both of those cant play the files then something major is iffy. * +

is it the latest vlc? * +

Yes its the latest vlc i got it from file hippo. Com but i'll give the win amp a try and see. I rather k lite overall cause it allows you to watch the files using windows media player, if it doesn't work i'll just have to go back to the original 7 * +
