thanx carta28. i googled but all i could see were references to why those mini notebooks cant show boot animation as its a predefined size of 1024x768 and articles leading to how one man engineered the boot animation. * +

lol even i know better than to have norton on my system and i'm a noob. Been able to find the bitmap that is shown at startup but now what is puzzling is how come its not shown when my system is booted up. My monitor i sbig resolution 1024x768 is supported. colour depth is set to 32bit so why cant it be shown?? any wild ideas? by the way even in windows photo viewer cant play the animation. * +

Image used at boot is scripted to animate. I doubt you can see it inside windows * +
