Linux is extremely flexible and of course thats it massive advantage being open source. But it obviously isnt nearly as slick or as user friendly as windows, and the support is obviously far less capable etc etc all the usual stuff is true, which is why it isnt likely to ever take a large home consumer market * +

Good point sparan, I have windows xp but also have ubuntu installed on separate hard drive, you can also try the os without installing, does the job for me. * +

microsoft and linux do not create computer security. the overall class C2 encryption algorithms are made by the NSA.the only reason why windows is hacked most is because in windows many people where to attack while in linux only few people know where to attack and those are super-uber-advanced gurus who reverse engineer s**t. * +

Since linux is open source u can customize it any way u wish and close all loopholes unlike windows which u cant. *
