If its a 40 pin cable you wnt get dma just pio mode. Then your dvd wil only go udma 2. Its fastest it can go. Hdd goes to 5. So theres nothing wrong with it * +

The 80 pin has thinner wiring but you wnt get udma on them just pio 4. Search 4 a app called cd dvd speed and check your speed with that. Nero dnt show real speed *
