oh tell me sumthing your pen drive when you made it bootable what did u use and what operating system bootloader did you choose? you cant make it bootable using xp's loader and then try to install 7 of it * +

no. when i remove the usb in the restart i point the bios to boot from the hd. it then says setup is updating registry files and then continues to completing installation. the last step. i used mbr wizard. and i did it correctly. pointed the cmd prompt to win 7 disc then into boot folder and did that whole bootsect thing. otherwise usin xp bootloader setup wouldnt even work. * +

yes! yes! yes!!! its installed now. i think the previour time it was frozen due to overheating but nw i got a fan pointing at it and made sure it didnt stop the disc activity. And now success. phew! what a mission. will make sure i never have to install ever again. will back up my win7 just as i backed up my xp. then i just have to restore my backup. is there a better burn software than ashampoo? *
