My pc is having problems shutting down and re-starting all of a sudden? Not a clue why. Trying Ashampoo winoptimiser 6, ccleaner, uniblue speedupmypc, auslogic defrag and optimise and scanned with mcafee, spyware terminator, spybot, malwarebytes and running out of ideas? Going to start uninstalling a few games and other software to see if making some free space on my hard drives helps? * +

have you checked your event viewer. controlpanne/admintools/events viewer. look under sytem and aplications for red crosses. * +

Theres one or two yellow triangles and red exclamation marks in there, said that windows media player had to shut down, think that was when i was trying to play some tunes and forgot to turn my external hard drive on, where i keep all my music. It just stays on the shutting down screen and doesn't actualy shut down? Only done this since yesterday. * +

and you installed nothing yesterday? try defragging your pagefile and make sure its not being wiped at shut down. if you let the pc run while it shutting down and wait till the aplication that has caused the error to time out it will show up in the event log. but this may take 10-15 mins as it may be more than 1 app. also try avira and do a rootkit search. * +

if your running multipl instances of antispyware 1 of them may be scanning at shut down or cleaning uninstall all bare malwarebytes (i know it dosent scan at shut down so you can leave it) what o.s. you using? * +
