you phone drivers you mention are windows based, and will not work, ther are other ways, if your phone connects via usb and is the standard system click the network icon. * +

mint is a good place to start, but it is based on ubuntu with some added libraries like codecs and flash etc. and ubuntu is based on debian. it's not hard to solve the issues if you are able to explain the problem correctly. least i don't have to guide you through gentoo, there is not enough space, and a wap site would be no way to offer help, especially here, as certain symbols are not supported * +

Ubuntu has general usb modem drivers dat work wit most gprs/edge or 3g phones supports s60 n s40v3phones dunno about s60v3.. Try 2 get ubuntu 9.. Got more driver support order it online 4 free * +

The problem i have is that when ubuntu.com and launchpad.net try and help, they assume that i know more than i do and it gets more confusing. I really wann get to grips with Ubuntu but ease explain it like you would to a 6 year old. i need precise instructions. Im a dunce i kno * +

I'm not familiar wit dat phone, but 4get bout ur phone's software as it's not written 4 linux. Plug ur phone in n c if it's automaticaly recognised. I use a program called blueman which recognises my phone as bluetooth modem. Once online, go 2 system, admin n check the hardware drivers 2 downloads the proprietary drivers. *
