the only time i have had a problem with the audio drivers is with cod4, occasionaly it will conflict with punkbuster and boot you out of the game. solution reinstall the drivers as they have become corrupt. * +

Dude try using manufacturer System recovery 2 format.. if d laptop came with win7... My lappy is win7 n wit realtek hd audio... I didnt update d drivers n no probs.. Also win7 has some doubly digital sound sht.. Try disabling it n select audio quality 2 cd or dvd less dan 44000khz all under windows sound cofig * +

Windows install a generic driver with the ms generic codec. Had same problem with soundmax. Search for Realtek's own codec driver and install it or use a sdif connection if you have a home theatre system * +
