depends on yer pocket. what ever is the fastest will be beaten in a few months. but atm the x58 boards are the fastest with there 6400+ qpi, with usb3 and sata 3. if you want faster then your looking at servers and deep pockets. * +

its only a matter of time the new ddr-s are out (ddr4 or ddr5) the speeds are catching up the cpu speeds. 4ghz 8gb ddr5 ram

2010 is the year DDR3 becomes the mainstream choice.

Plus DDR3 gives huge chunks of bandwidth with modern processors, integrated memory controllers. core i7 can manage over 20GB/s bandwidth easily. three times core 2 and double phenom. so it'll be time before there is even a use for all that * +

why do people need cars when they were born with legs.. the more ram you have the more you can do without your system slowing down. then again you need a decent system to be able to use 6-12 gigs. * +
